Creating a Plan

FIND YOUR FREEDOM

Financial freedom isn’t just about money. It’s about finding your why and aligning your resources to pursue it. Butterworth Financial helps you define that why and create a financial plan that lets you live out your unique vision of freedom.

As your life changes over time, your focus shifts and your goals evolve. More often than not, life can become more complicated. For whatever lies ahead, our team is dedicated to helping you preserve the success you’ve spent a lifetime envisioning and creating. We want to understand the challenges you face and the values you want to protect, so we can collaborate in creating a plan that’s right for you.

Each financial plan our team creates is unique because we recognize that no two clients are alike. Everyone is motivated by personal values and passions, and responds differently to opportunities and challenges. A successful financial plan must account for those differences. That’s why our team works hard to understand all the aspects of your situation.

Our Integrated Wealth Process is the framework we’ve developed to help you create a plan for the things that matter most to you. It is designed to help you develop a clear understanding of your current financial position, so you can make informed decisions and move forward with confidence. It all begins with you, starting with our Integrated Wealth Process.

DISCOVERY
Identify your values and goals.
The first step in a successful relationship is getting to know each other. We want to make a personal connection with you, so you feel comfortable and trust can begin to build. Our conversations will revolve around you; the values and relationships that motivate and define you, the things you want to accomplish, and the way you want to work with an advisor. It’s about much more than just your finances.
SNAPSHOT
Analyze and evaluate your options.
Once we have gotten to know each other, our team will help you connect your current financial situation with what you ultimately want to accomplish. We’ll begin with an in-depth look at where you are today. Then we’ll discuss your options and our specific recommendations for moving forward, using interactive planning tools to show you how the decisions you make today will impact your future.
MUTUAL COMMITMENT
Establish our working relationship.
After you’ve had a chance to consider our recommendations, we’ll meet again to address any questions you may have and agree on the terms of our relationship. If we reach a mutual decision to move forward, then we’ll formally establish our relationship by signing the necessary agreements and paperwork.
IMPLEMENTATION
The client experience begins.
As the elements of your plan are put into place, we schedule a follow-up appointment to make sure you’re comfortable. We’ll go over your first statement together, review the resources you have access to, and discuss what you can expect in the coming months. Our goal is for you to be confident that our firm is the right place for you.
STAY THE COURSE
Embrace the journey.
The most important part of the financial planning process occurs in the months and years to come. As time passes, your life will inevitably change and so will your goals and financial needs. Our team will be here to help you along the way, reviewing and updating your plan to make sure you stay on track. You can take comfort knowing that we’ll handle the details, so you can focus your time and energy on the things that matter most to you.

It is a privilege to be RECOMMENDED BY YOU

Many of our new clients have come from introductions by our current clients or other professionals with whom we collaborate. If you wish to introduce someone, we thank you and want you to know we will treat your request and the information provided with the urgency and discretion it deserves.

A SECOND LOOK may be in order

We offer complimentary and confidential second opinions. Much like getting a second opinion on a medical diagnosis or a legal matter, it never hurts to have someone see if the financial guidance you are receiving is aligned with your goals, time horizon and risk tolerance. If your current advisor is providing you with real value and beneficial guidance, we are perfectly fine with recommending that you maintain your relationship.

In addition to reviewing your portfolio, we would be interested in your answers to these questions:

  • Does your advisor work with you on financial matters other than just your investments – such as estate or tax planning? Do they make an effort to educate you on these subjects?
  • Does your advisor analyze current events, policy changes or market circumstances and then inform you on how they could affect your financial situation?
  • Does your advisor respond promptly and responsively when you have a need?
  • Does your advisor disclose the potential risks or drawbacks of their recommendations, along with the benefits?
  • Is your advisor’s compensation structure clear to you? Request a fee-waived consultation.
